In Spain, Climate-KIC Accelerator, coordinated by AVAESEN (Valencian Association of Energy Companies), offers financial support and training for the best startups related to the fight against climate change. Innovative projects that help mitigate climate change are sought, applicable to energy, water, building, agriculture, production processes, commerce, industry, sustainable cities, etc. Funding reaches 60,000 euros, without taking company participation.

In the previous two editions, Climate-KIC Accelerator Spain has launched 46 startups, with 15 new products introduced to the market, 170 mentored entrepreneurs, 30 new jobs created, and a survival rate of 95%.

The registration period is now open and ends on April 4th.

Successful startups have emerged from this accelerator such as Closca, which counts with Google among its clients, and whose folding helmet is for sale at the MOMA in New York and the Design Museum in London. Another examples are Evovelo, which markets a revolutionary solar vehicle, and Navlandis, with its folding sea container.

Powered by the European Institute of Technology and Innovation, Climate-KIC Accelerator offers coaching, mentoring and international masterclasses The program is open to teams of at least 2 entrepreneurs with the desire to create a company in 2016, young companies up to 3 years old or SMEs from any sector working on new business models and / or technologies that can mitigate the environmental impact.

In order to participate an innovative idea or product applicable to any area of ​​action of climate change and with high potential for growth and global expansion must be demonstrated. The program seeks ambitious entrepreneurs and balanced teams made up of at least 2 people with an advanced conversational level of English .

Climate-KIC Accelerator Spain programme lasts 9 months, from April to December, allowing access to the largest European network of clean tech innovation in the European Union, with more than 100 public and private partners, as well as access to specialized investors and a program of exchange with accelerators in New York, Singapore, Dubai or Paris.
