Navlandis Zbox Container

Costs and space are fundamental elements in any kind of transport, such as maritime, and that may change shortly because the firm Navlandis has announced that next October it will present a very special product at the Port of Valencia, a 20-foot shipping container.

But … why to present a container that is already well-known? There is the crux of the matter, because it is a collapsible maritime container, which makes it occupy a fifth of its completely open space, which will greatly facilitate the transport of empty containers, saving both space and costs, something reason why a good number of shipping companies have already been interested.

Navlandis wants to make a name for itself in the shipping container business, given that in 2014 the shipping companies acquired some 5 million new containers, a market in which, surely, with this novelty, they will not be left out.

As Miguel Navalón, CEO of Navlandis advanced:

This container will have the same resistance as conventional containers. In addition, it can be handled with the same machinery that all the merchandise ports have, as well as with the minimum human resources, which will make operational costs much more competitive.

At the moment it is a prototype at the construction phase, but everything will be ready for its presentation in October, where attendees will be able to see its characteristics. They have also advanced that next developments will be  40 feet and 40 feet High Cube containers.

After a meeting with Aurelio Martínez, president of the Port Authority of the Port of Valencia, he was very interested in the product and without hesitation offered the port facilities so that the presentation could be carried out.

Following this premiere, the folding container will be presented at the Intermodal Europe 2016 fair between 15 and 17 November, considered the largest logistics and transport fair on the European continent, to be held in the Dutch town of Rotterdam.

Aurelio Martínez stated that this Spanish product demonstrates how the R&D departments in Valencia work, and that thanks to the activity generated by this port, it contributes to the development of the close business network. He has also shown his hope that the Valencian port will be the place where this new product is presented, which will be a complete success.
